An accident occurred Wednesday when a car was attempting to merge onto westbound Parallel Parkway from northbound I-435.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report, the driver of a Dodge Charger, a 37-year-old man from Kansas City, Kan., had a possible injury and was taken to a hospital.
The vehicle was a Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Department vehicle, and the driver was taken to the hospital as a precaution and was not injured, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
The Charger was merging onto westbound Parallel Parkway from northbound I-435 when it attempted to cross the westbound lanes of Parallel, the trooper’s report stated. A Chevrolet Silverado on Parallel then collided with the driver’s side of the Charger, according to the trooper’s report.
The driver of the Silverado, a 51-year-old man from Atchison, Kan., was not injured, according to the report.
The accident was at 3:19 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28.
