Accident reported on northbound I-435 near K-5

An accident was reported at 6:57 a.m. Friday, April 30, on northbound I-435 near K-5, according to KC Scout. Two right lanes were closed. A 42-year-old Dearborn, Missouri, man was taken to a hospital with a suspected serious injury after a crash on Friday morning between a utility truck and semi on I-435.

The crash happened about 6:50 a.m. Friday on northbound I-435, south of the Missouri River in Kansas City, Kansas, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s crash log.

A Ford F-550 truck driven by the Dearborn man was southbound on I-435, while the semi, which was pulling a trailer, was northbound on I-435, the report stated.

The utility truck ran off the road to the left, crossed through the median, and collided with the semi on the northbound side, according to the trooper’s report.

The Dearborn man was taken to a hospital in Overland Park.

The Kenworth semi driver, a 58-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, man, had a possible injury and was taken to a hospital in Kansas City, Kansas, according to the trooper’s report.
