A rear-end accident on the northbound I-35 ramp to I-635 caused an injury at 2:15 p.m. Oct. 19, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.
A GMC Yukon and a Ford Econoline van were northbound on I-35 at the exit to I-635 when traffic came to a stop. While the van was able to stop in time, the Yukon was unable to stop and struck the rear of the van, according to the trooper’s report.
A 46-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, man riding in the van was injured and taken to a hospital, the trooper’s report stated. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the report.
The driver of the van, a 22-year-old man from Kansas City, Kansas, was not injured, and the six other passengers of the van were not injured, according to the report.
The driver of the Yukon, a 27-year-old woman from Kansas City, Mo., was not injured, the report stated.
