A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect from 10 p.m. Friday, July 9, until 5 a.m. Saturday, July 10.
Strong to severe thunderstorms could move southward. There is a risk of severe storms in the region. Hazards include heavy rain, flash flooding, large hail and damaging winds.
Showers and thunderstorms will continue through Saturday.
Radar shows that storms are currently to the northwest and are moving toward the Kansas City area. They could arrive early Saturday.
