A portion of the southbound Turner Diagonal from 65th to K-32 in Kansas City, Kansas, is scheduled to be closed to traffic on Wednesday, April 21, weather permitting.

It was postponed from an earlier closure date of April 20. According to the Kansas Department of Transportation, work will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to remove an overhead sign truss over the roadway.

Traffic may travel south on 65th and east on K-32 back to the Turner Diagonal. Motorists should use an alternate route or allow extra time in their travel schedule, and expect delays, a spokesman stated.

The KDOT spokesman urged all motorists to be alert and obey the warning signs when approaching and driving through a highway work zone. To stay aware of all road construction projects across Kansas go to www.kandrive.org or call 5-1-1. Drive safely and always wear your seat belt, the spokesman stated.
