The Kansas Department for Children and Families will close DCF service centers to the public on Tuesday, Feb. 16, because of frigid temperatures and the possibility of rolling blackouts across the state, according to a news release.
The Kansas City, Kansas, DCF office at 402 State Ave. will not be open to the public on Tuesday.
DCF clients may conduct business with the agency through the internet and telephone. In-person contact will not be available.
Those who need to apply for services for food, cash or child care assistance may apply online at www.dcf.ks.gov.
Clients may call DCF at 1-888-369-4777 to talk with a DCF worker.
DCF advised anyone who suspects abuse or neglect to call the Kansas Protection Report Center at 1-800-922-5330.
