An icy spot on northbound I-35 caused a vehicle to spin around, resulting in an accident Wednesday morning, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.
At 6 a.m. Feb. 10, a Dodge Durango on northbound I-35 cut through the traffic to get to the exit at 18th Street and hit an icy spot, the trooper’s report stated.
The driver lost control and the vehicle spun around, facing the wrong way, the according to the report.
A Dodge Avenger that was northbound on I-35 was unable to brake in time and hit the Durango head-on, the trooper’s report stated.
The Durango then was pushed backwards into a northbound F-150 truck, according to the trooper’s report.
The driver of the Avenger, a 43-year-old man from Shawnee, Kansas, had a possible minor injury and was taken to a hospital in Kansas City, Kansas, the report stated.
The driver of the Durango, a 78-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, man, had no apparent injury, according to the trooper’s report.
The driver of the Ford F-150 truck, a 47-year-old man from Lawrence, Kansas, had no apparent injury, the report stated.
