The victim of a homicide on Jan. 1 at 44th and Parallel has been identified, according to a police spokesman.
The victim was identified as Mustaffa J. Muhammad, 53, a resident of Kansas City, Kansas, a police spokesman stated.
Officers were dispatched to 44th and Parallel at 2:20 p.m. Friday on reports of a person lying in the snow.
Police found a deceased man with an apparent gunshot wound, according to the spokesman. The initial investigation indicated the incident likely occurred in the early hours of Jan. 1, police stated.
