Record cold today, rain to continue

Record cold temperatures are predicted today, along with rain, by the National Weather Service.

The coldest high for the day was 60, set in 1898, the weather service said, and the high will be near 57 today.

Rain is in the forecast for much of the day today, according to the weather service.

Chances of rain will continue through Saturday, with 1 to 3 inches of rain expected, according to the weather service. Minor flooding may be possible.

Today, there is a 70 percent chance of showers, mainly before 5 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 57 with a north northeast wind of 9 mph. Between a quarter and half-inch of rain is possible.

Tonight, there is a 70 percent chance of showers, mainly after 1 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 54 with a north northeast wind of 7 mph. Between a tenth and quarter-inch of rain is possible.

Friday, there is an 80 percent chance of showers, mainly after 1 p.m., with a high near 68, the weather service said. A north wind of 5 mph will become light and variable in the afternoon. Between a quarter and half-inch of rain is possible.

Friday night, there is a 50 percent chance of showers, with a low of 59, according to the weather service. The wind will be calm. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected.

Saturday, there is a 20 percent chance of showers after 1 p.m., with a high near 80, the weather service said. A calm wind will become south southwest 5 to 7 mph in the morning.

Saturday night, it will be mostly clear, with a low of 58, according to the weather service.

Sunday, it will be sunny, with a high near 78, the weather service said.

Sunday night, it will be clear, with a low of 57, according to the weather service.

Monday, it will be sunny, with a high near 79, the weather service said.
