Robbery reported on Parallel

A suspect entered a store at 11:22 a.m. Aug. 18 in the 4700 block of Parallel Parkway and demanded money from the cash register, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

The suspect acted as if he had a gun, the report stated. The suspect also stole the victim’s cell phone, according to the report.

After taking money from the register, the suspect fled on foot. Detectives, the shift sergeant and crime scene investigators responded, and evidence was collected, the report stated.

Robbery reported on Haskell

Responding to a disturbance call at 6:59 p.m. Aug. 18 in the 4600 block of Haskell, officers were told that a suspect pointed a weapon at the victim while making threats of violence, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

According to the report, the suspect tried reaching into the victim’s pockets to pull out money but was unsuccessful. Then the suspect kicked open the door to the victim’s house, entered and removed a television set, according to the report. The suspect then fled.

The shift sergeant and detectives responded.
