Temperatures to reach high 80s today

Temperatures may reach as high as 88 degrees today, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

There is a slight chance of rain and storms today, but not high enough to be listed on the Wyandotte County forecast. The storms and rain will be mostly to the southwest of the Kansas City area. At 9:30 a.m., storm clouds were seen south of Topeka and in the Ottawa area, according to weather service radar.

Temperatures will be in the high 80s through Saturday, then will drop to the mid-80s on Sunday through Monday before dropping to the high 70s on Tuesday, according to the forecast.

Today, it will be partly sunny, with a high near 88 and a south southeast wind of 6 to 9 mph, the weather service said.

Tonight, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 70 and an east southeast wind of 6 to 8 mph, according to the weather service.

Friday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 90 and heat index values as high as 95, the weather service said. There will be an east southeast wind of 6 to 8 mph.

Friday night, it will be partly cloudy with a low of 71 and a light southeast wind, according to the weather service.

Saturday, there is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 87 with a calm wind becoming north around 6 mph in the afternoon.

Saturday night, it will be mostly clear, with a low of 64, according to the weather service.

Sunday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 85, the weather service said.

Sunday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low around 64, according to the weather service.

Monday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 84, the weather service said.

Monday night, it will be mostly clear, with a low around 61, according to the weather service.

Tuesday, it will be sunny, with a high near 80, the weather service said.

Tuesday night, it will be mostly clear, with a low of 60, according to the weather service.
