Kansas City, Kan., police were on the scene of a homicide Sunday evening in the 1400 block of New Jersey.
They responded about 7:11 p.m. Oct. 26 to a report of a shooting. According to a police spokesman, when officers arrived they found a girl inside the residence dead from a gunshot wound.
The identity of the juvenile victim will not be released, pending positive identification and family notification, police said.
The incident is under investigation by the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department’s Major Case Unit, which is encouraging anyone with information to call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
