A three-vehicle accident injured two at about 6 p.m. Saturday, March 22, on I-435 just north of I-70 in Kansas City, Kan.
The Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report stated that two persons were injured and taken to the University of Kansas Hospital, Kansas City, Kan. Three vehicles were northbound on I-435 in the exit lane to State Avenue westbound, when a Ford Focus stopped for traffic. A Chevy Suburban was unable to stop and struck the rear of the Focus. A Geo Metro then struck the rear of the Suburban, the trooper’s report stated.
A 22-year-old Kansas City, Kan., woman who was driving the Geo Metro was injured and taken to the hospital.
A passenger in the Geo Metro, a 24-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man, also was injured and taken to the hospital, according to the trooper’s report.
The driver of the Suburban, a 25-year-old man from Overland Park, Kan., was not injured. A passenger in the Suburban, a 24-year-old woman from Overland Park, also was not injured.
A 25-year-old Wichita, Kan., man driving the Focus also was not injured. Also not injured in the Focus were a 27-year-old man from Manhattan, Kan.; a 26-year-old woman from Manhattan, Kan.; and a 24-year-old woman from Derby, Kan.
