Grenades discovered in former employee’s locker

An employee from a business reported that two possible grenades were discovered in the locker of a terminated employee at 11:31 a.m. July 16 in the 1000 block of Packard, according to a social media post Friday by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

Officers confirmed the presence of two suspected grenades, the report stated. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal responded and handled the situation, according to the report. There is an ongoing investigation.

Vehicle stolen near 47th and Parallel

A victim was putting change in a vacuum cleaner machine at 4:26 p.m. July 16 in the 4700 block of Parallel Parkway when she heard someone getting into her vehicle, according to a social media post Friday by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

As the victim turned around, the suspect pointed a gun at her and told her to get back, according to the report. The suspect then fled. Detectives responded, the report stated.

Carjacking reported near 13th and Quindaro

A victim said that when she pulled up to get gas at 9:25 p.m. July 16 in the 1300 block of Quindaro, one of the suspects approached her vehicle, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

The suspect opened the car door, pointed a gun at her, pulled her out of the vehicle and struck her, the report stated. He then drove off in her vehicle, according to the report. Detectives responded.
