Wyandotte County COVID-19 cases up 111 on Sunday

There were a total cumulative 3,050 cases at 1 p.m. Sunday as compared to 2,939 at 1 p.m. Saturday, according to the Unified Government’s COVID-19 webpage. There was one additional death. (UG COVID-19 webpage)

Positive COVID-19 cases in Wyandotte County passed the 3,000 mark, with 111 new cases reported on Sunday.

There were a total cumulative 3,050 cases at 1 p.m. Sunday as compared to 2,939 at 1 p.m. Saturday, according to the Unified Government’s COVID-19 webpage.

There were 88 deaths reported Sunday, one new death since 1 p.m. Saturday, according to the website.

In the Kansas City region, there were 12,428 confirmed total cumulative cases, with 305 deaths, according to the KC Region COVID-19 Resource Hub. The webpage is through the Mid America Regional Council.

According to the KC Region page, Johnson County had 2,967 cases and 93 deaths. Leavenworth County had 1,213 cases and 7 deaths, according to the website.

Kansas City, Missouri, had 2,449 cases and 38 deaths, according to the KC Region website.

Testing available

Testing is offered at the UG Health Department parking lot, 6th and Ann, on Mondays through Fridays. Hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays. The free tests are for those who live and work in Wyandotte County, and who have symptoms or who have been exposed to COVID-19.

There are also pop-up tests available during the week through the Health Equity Task Force.


Wyandotte County is currently under the governor’s mask order and is under the Phase 3 of the state’s Ad Astra reopening plan.
