Scattered thunderstorms will be possible Wednesday and Thursday before dry weather returns to the area on Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
Severe weather is not expected during the next five days, the weather service said.
River flooding is either ongoing or expected in the region. The Missouri River at Parkville, an area that includes northwestern Wyandotte County and Wolcott, has moved into the action stage, and is still below flood stage, according to U.S. Geologic Survey charts.

Today, there is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in Wyandotte County after 11 a.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 76 with a light and variable wind.
Tonight, there is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 63 with a light north wind. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected.
Thursday, there is an 80 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10 a.m., then showers are likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., and showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 74 with a light northwest wind becoming north northwest 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Between a quarter and half-inch of rain is in the forecast.
Thursday night, the low will be around 57 with a north wind of 3 to 6 mph, according to the weather service.
Friday, it will be sunny, with a high near 75 and a north wind of 3 to 6 mph, the weather service said.
