Jones BBQ, 6706 Kaw Drive, Kansas City, Kansas, is giving away grocery items to those in need at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 21.
The grocery giveaway will end at 1 p.m. or whenever supplies run out, whichever is sooner.
The free groceries were made possible by a donation from Kingsford’s #TogetherWithBBQ initiative, a spokesman stated.
According to the spokesman, the Jones sisters are eager to give back to the community, and are inviting those in need of groceries to pick them up in a pre-packed bag of food items. The food items may include pork and beans, hot dogs, milk, corn and green beans.
Anyone who attends to pick up groceries is asked to wear a mask. According to the spokesman, Jones BBQ has invited the police to help with traffic control.
Jones BBQ also will be open for regular barbecue sales through their pickup window and their new 24-hour vending machine.
