Students are tuning up their instruments for a day of competition and fun.
The Kansas City, Kan., Public Schools will hold its annual Marching Band Festival at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18 at the Washington High School stadium.
The annual festival features bands from the district’s high schools, including Washington, Wyandotte, Sumner Academy, Harmon, and Schlagle. Traditionally students and instructors focus their best performance energies on this festival, and the result is an afternoon of pageantry and sound.
Tickets are $5 in advance (and may be purchased from any high school band director) or $7 at the gate.
