A fatal accident was reported Sunday evening on westbound I-70 near the 57th Street exit in Kansas City, Kan.
According to the Kansas Turnpike Authority trooper’s report, a Dodge pickup truck was westbound at a high rate of speed around 7:19 p.m. Sunday when it lost control, left the road, struck a guardrail and then struck a tree. The driver was partially ejected.
The driver, Dwight David Carr, 50, of Thornton, Colo., was killed in the accident, according to the report. He was not wearing a seat belt, the report stated.
