Temperatures have dropped from the 70s on Thursday to a high near 41 on Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
Subfreezing temperatures are possible for Friday through Sunday mornings, with temperatures ranging from the low to middle 20s on Saturday morning, the weather service said.
Minor river flooding is possible in some areas of the region through the weekend, although river levels in Wyandotte County are currently below action stage.
Another round of rain may move into the area Sunday, which could exacerbate ongoing flooding, according to the weather service.
Today, the temperature was 34 degrees at 8 a.m. with a wind chill of 24. It will be cloudy through mid-morning, then gradually clearing, with a high near 41, the weather service said. A north wind of 13 to 18 mph may gust as high as 30 mph.
Tonight, it will be mostly clear with a low of 26 and a north wind of 6 to 11 mph becoming light north northeast after midnight, according to the weather service.
Saturday, it will be mostly sunny with a high near 48 and a calm wind becoming south southeast around 5 mph in the afternoon, the weather service said.
Saturday night, there is a 50 percent chance of ran after 1 a.m., with increasing clouds and a low of 37, according to the weather service. There will be a calm wind. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is possible.
Sunday, there is a 70 percent chance of rain, mainly before 1 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 46. A calm wind will become east southeast around 5 mph in the afternoon. Between a tenth and quarter-inch of rain is possible.
Sunday night, it will be mostly cloudy with a low of 37, according to the weather service.
Monday, it will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 58, the weather service said.
