One person has died in an accident Saturday morning near I-70 and I-435 in Wyandotte County.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report, a semi truck was stopped in a lane of westbound I-70, east of 110th Street. A Jeep Patriot traveling westbound on I-70 struck the rear of the semi about 5:33 a.m. Saturday, according to the trooper’s report.
Christopher Deason, a 59-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, man who was driving the Patriot, died in the accident, according to the trooper’s report. He was not wearing a safety restraint, the report stated.
The driver of the Freightliner semi, a 39-year-old man from Jonesboro, Arkansas, was not injured, the report stated.
