Children’s Mercy Urgent Care opening delayed
Because of freezing precipitation and potentially hazardous travel with icy conditions, the three Kansas City area Children’s Mercy Urgent Care centers will open at 3 p.m. today.
Ride KC services suspended until 2 p.m.
RideKC has suspended service for KCATA, Independence and Unified Government Transit routes due to road conditions. 482 Overland Park Flex in Johnson County is also suspended until 2 p.m. Service will resume at 2 p.m. when temperatures are expected to rise. Other Johnson County bus routes have completed their morning rush hour. Delays are expected on midday service routes due to road conditions and traffic on area highways.
RideKC Freedom paratransit is suspending service for the rest of the day and is in Phase D of the Inclement Weather Plan. RideKC Freedom will only make trips to dialysis, medical appointments and return trips for those who already traveled this morning.
Customers should expect delays as crews work to clear streets. Once service resumes, customers are encouraged to dress warmly, listen to local newscasts for up-to-date information, and use the online tools to find out if their bus is delayed. The Regional Call Center, 816-221-0660, is open until 7 p.m. today.

Airport flights canceled
Many flights at Kansas City International Airport were canceled this morning, as the airfield was temporarily closed from freezing rain, and plans to reopen soon. For flight updates, see https://www.flykci.com/. A KCI slideoff was reported Friday morning.
