Kyle Busch has had a troubled relationship with Kansas Speedway since the repave in 2012, in his last four starts in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in Kansas He has finished outside the top 30 three times. His best finish was in the 5-hour ENERGY® 400 this past May when he finished 15th.
Busch led 34 laps before going to Gatorade Victory Lane in the Kansas Lottery 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race Saturday at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kan.
“We did really good here in the spring with our Toyota Care Tundra and won in that,” Busch said. “I feel like our Cup car is OK, if we can get out of here with a top 10 day tomorrow that would be pretty good.”
Kevin Harvick, who won the pole for Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400 finished second, Ryan Blaney finished third and Paul Menard and Ty Dillon rounded out the top five.
Chase Elliott held on to his NASCAR Nationwide Series points lead after finishing 10th Saturday; he leads teammate Regan Smith by 38 points.
The Sprint Cup Series ran two practice sessions for Sunday’s race, Marcos Ambrose topped the first practice and Kyle Larson was fastest in the second practice.
Tickets for Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400, which starts at 1 p.m., are still available and can be purchased by calling 866-460-7223 or at the gate each day.
Parking is free at Kansas Speedway and fans can bring in one 14x14x14-inch soft-sided cooler with their favorite food and beverages.

Local favorite Jennifer Jo Cobb, a Kansas City, Kan., native, was 24th in the Nationwide race, driving a Chevrolet. She started 39th.
