Shooting into occupied buildings reported

Officers responded to a shots fired call about 3:35 a.m. the 3200 block of Garfield Avenue, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

Several homes and vehicles were damaged by gunfire, according to the report. No suspects were taken into custody, police stated.

Suspect steals vehicle at gunpoint

An aggravated robbery was reported at 7 p.m. Jan. 6 in the 1000 block of McAlpine Avenue, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

A suspect approached the victim and then pointed a gun at the victim, according to the report. The suspect took the victim’s vehicle and fled, the report stated. The victim was not injured.

Suspect flees in stolen vehicle

A police officer located a stolen auto in the area of the 300 block of South 11th Street, about 11:45 p.m. Jan. 7, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, then the suspect fled, and the officer pursued the vehicle, according to the report.

Later, the suspect stopped and fled on foot, police reported. The suspect was located and taken into custody without further incident, according to the report.
