Weather turns colder today

A cloudy, cold and blustery day is expected today with northwesterly wind gusts up to 34 mph, making it feel like it’s in the teens and 20s, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

Light rain chances will return Thursday afternoon through Friday morning, the weather service said.

At 8 a.m., it was 33 degrees in Wyandotte County, with a wind chill of 21, according to the weather service.

Today’s high will be near 34 with a west northwest wind of 16 to 20 mph, gusting as high as 34 mph, the weather service said.

Tonight, it will be mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming clear, with a low of 27, according to the weather service. A west northwest wind of 11 to 15 mph will gust as high as 25 mph.

Tuesday, it will be sunny with a high near 40 and a west northwest wind of 6 to 11 mph, gusting as high as 21 mph, the weather service said.

Tuesday night, New Year’s Eve, it will be clear with a low of 28 and a light southwest wind, according to the weather service.

On Wednesday, New Year’s Day, it will be sunny with a high near 51 and a south southwest wind of 5 to 11 mph, gusting as high as 28 mph, the weather service said.

Wednesday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 38, according to the weather service.

Thursday, it will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 50, the weather service said.

Thursday night, it will be mostly cloudy, with a low of 33, according to the weather service.

Friday, it will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 43, the weather service said.

Friday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 28, according to the weather service.
