Race weekend starts today at Kansas Speedway

It’s race weekend at the Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kan.

Tonight, the ARCA race will be run at 7:30 p.m.

Qualifying for the ARCA race begins at 1:35 p.m. Friday.

The 150-mile, 100-lap ARCA race will be on cable television on Fox Sports 2 channel.

After tonight’s race, there will be a concert by Drowning Pool that is free for ARCA race ticketholders.

On Saturday, Oct. 4, the Kansas Lottery 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race will take place at 2:30 p.m. It will be on ESPN cable television.

Qualifying for the Nationwide Series will be at 11:15 a.m. Saturday.

Also on Saturday, Sprint Cup Series practice will be at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Local favorite race driver Jennifer Jo Cobb, a native of Kansas City, Kan., plans to compete in the Nationwide event.

The Hollywood Casino NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race will take place at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5.

Two concerts are planned before the race. At 10:30 a.m., Katy Guillen and the Girls band will be presented on the Sprint FanWalk stage.

At 11:15 a.m., Joe Nichols will give a pre-race concert.
