Accident reported on westbound I-70 at 18th Street

An accident was reported at 1:43 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, on westbound I-70 at 18th Street Expressway, according to KC Scout. Three left lanes were closed. A semi truck with the name on the side, “Mid Cities Inc.,” rolled over on I-70. One person was taken to the hospital, according to a social media post by the KCK Fire Department. A rollover accident was reported at 1:43 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, on westbound I-70 at 18th Street Expressway, according to authorities.

A Mack truck with the name on the side, “Mid Cities Inc.,” rolled over on I-70.

According to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s crash log, the Mack truck was westbound on I-70 when the driver slammed on his brakes for an unknown reason, swerved and struck the median barrier wall.

The driver, a 47-year-old Olathe, Kansas, man, was taken to the hospital with a possible minor injury, according to the trooper’s report.
