The winds have settled down today, but were high enough for a wind chill reading of 16 at 8 a.m., the weather service said The temperature was 25 degrees.
Late Monday, warmer air will start to move into the area, with Tuesday through Thursday reaching highs in the 50s, according to the weather service.
The next chance for precipitation and cooler weather will be Thursday night into Friday, the weather service said. The system will push through the region, possibly in the southern portion.
Areas along and north of the Missouri River may not see any precipitation Thursday night and Friday, while areas to the south may receive less than a tenth of an inch, according to the weather service.
Cooler air will move into the region Friday with highs in the 40s possible, the weather service said.
Above average temperatures with southerly winds are expected to return to the area for the weekend, according to the weather service.
