IRBs on Nov. 14 UG agenda

Industrial revenue bonds of up to $100 million for the PQ Corp. are on the Thursday, Nov. 14 agenda for the Unified Government Commission.

The Unified Government Commission will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, in the Commission Chambers, lobby level, City Hall, 701 N. 7th St., Kansas City, Kansas.

A meeting at 5 p.m. also is scheduled at the commission chambers. At the 5 p.m. meeting, the UG Commission will recess to the ninth floor conference room in City Hall for a closed, executive session on the UG administrator’s review.

According to the UG 7 p.m. agenda, the IRBs would be for sales tax exemption for acquisition, construction, improvements and equipment for the PQ Corp. industrial facility expansions at 1700 Kansas Ave., Kansas City, Kansas.

According to UG officials, the city eventually would receive more than $3 back for each dollar invested and the state would receive more than $6 back for each dollar invested in the project.

Also scheduled at 7 p.m. is a presentation on street preservation.

Also on the 7 p.m. agenda is a a resolution amending the schedule of the UG Commission meetings, adding a UG Commission planning and zoning meeting for Jan. 9.

A Land Bank item is on the 7 p.m. agenda.

This includes an application for 826 H S. 10th St., new construction driveway for Juan Velazquez-Rodriguez.

Also scheduled is an update on the Land Bank rehab program.
