Early partial preliminary election results showed incumbent Commissioner Melissa Brune Bynum leading with 66.8 percent of the vote to Mark Gilstrap’s 32.7 percent in the contest for Unified Government Commissioner, 1st District at large.

In the very close UG Commission, 3rd District contest, Christian A. Ramirez was leading with 236 votes to incumbent Commissioner Ann Murguia’s 230 votes.

For UG Commission, 4th District, incumbent Commissioner Harold Johnson was leading 355 to challenger Jorge L. Flores, 140.

For UG Commission, 6th District, incumbent Commissioner Angela Markley was leading 260 votes to Diana J. Aguirre’s 143.

Wyandotte County Register of Deeds Nancy Burns had 84.9 percent of the vote, with 3,863 to Tscher Manck’s 675.

For Board of Public Utilities, at large, position 3, Rose Mulvany Henry was leading David Haley, 2,175 to 2,123 in a very close contest.

For the Kansas City, Kansas, Public Schools, where four persons will advance, the top vote-getters were Randy Lopez, 1,375; Yolanda S. Clark, 1,230; Janey Humphries, 1,185; and Valdenia C. Winn, 1,112. Brenda C. Jones, who resigned from the board earlier this year, received 1,016 votes.
