Grinter Chapel United Methodist Church, 7819 Swartz Road, will have a Halloween Trunk or Treat event from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30. Besides a trunk or treat, they will serve hot dogs, while supplies last.

An Autumnfest carnival will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at London Heights Baptist Church, 734 N. 78th St., Kansas City, Kansas. There will be games and activities, plus a hay ride, weather permitting.

The 45th annual Wyandotte County Mayors’ Prayer Breakfast will be held at 8 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, at the Reardon Convention Center, 500 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. The guest speaker for the interdenominational event is the Rev. Desmond C. Lamb Sr. Dr. Lamb holds a doctorate of ministry with a counseling emphasis from Midwest Baptist Theological Seminary. A native of Kansas City, Kansas, Dr. Lamb is the pastor of Forest Grove Baptist Church and president of the Kansas City, Kansas, Baptist Ministers Union.

Open Door Baptist Church, 3033 N. 103rd Terrace, Kansas City, Kansas, will meet for Sunday worship at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 27. Sunday school is at 9 a.m.

A smothered steak dinner is planned from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 3 at St. John the Evangelist parish hall, 2910 Strong Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. St. John the Evangelist Altar Society is the host of the dinner. The dinner will cost $8 for adults and $4 for children 10 and younger.


A pancake breakfast to benefit the Sisters, Servants of Mary, will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, at St. Patrick Catholic Parish Center, 1086 N. 94th St., Kansas City, Kansas. Tickets will be $6 for adults and $4 for children 10 and younger. The Sisters, Servants of Mary, provide nursing care to the sick.


Members of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1300 N. 18th St., Kansas City, Kansas, will observe All Saints Day at 10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 3.

Stony Point Christian Church, 149 S. 78th St., Kansas City, Kansas, will participate in Operation Christmas Child, in which individuals may fill up shoe boxes with Christmas gifts for children.

Wyandotte United Methodist Church, 7901 Oakland Ave., Kansas City, Kansas, will meet for worship services on Oct. 27 at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., with Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. and the youth group at 1:30 p.m.
