Today’s high: 54, with light showers possible Saturday

The forecast calls sunny and cool weather today, with a 20 percent chance of showers on Saturday.

Showers generally will be along and east of I-35 on Saturday, the National Weather Service said.

The weather service also has possible light snow in the forecast for Monday night into Tuesday morning, as temperatures could drop to 29 degrees.

Below normal temperatures are expected through next week, the weather service said.

The Missouri River above Parkville, where the gauge is on I-435 over the Missouri River between Wyandotte and Platte counties, is below flood stage and in action stage, and could fall below action stage soon, according to hydrology charts.

Today, it will be sunny with a high near 54 and an east northeast wind of 5 to 7 mph, the weather service said.

Tonight, it will be mostly clear with a low of 37 and a northeast wind of 3 to 5 mph, according to the weather service.

Saturday, there is a 20 percent chance of showers, with a high near 56 and an north wind of 3 to 6 mph, the weather service said. There is a chance of patchy frost before 8 a.m.

Saturday night, it will be mostly clear, with a low of 38 and a calm wind, according to the weather service.

Sunday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 56 and a light and variable wind, the weather service said.

Sunday night, it will be mostly cloudy, with a low of 36, according to the weather service.

Monday, there is a 30 percent chance of showers after 1 p.m., with a high near 46, the weather service said.

Monday night, there is a 30 percent chance of rain showers before 11 p.m., then a chance of rain and snow showers between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m., then a chance of snow showers after 2 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 29.

Tuesday, there is a 30 percent chance of rain and snow showers before noon, then a chance of rain showers between noon and 1 p.m., with a high near 41, the weather service said.

Tuesday night, it will be partly cloudy with a low of 26, according to the weather service.

Wednesday, it will be mostly sunny with a high near 40, the weather service said.

Thursday, it will be mostly sunny with a high near 45, the weather service said.
