Windy today, with showers possible early Saturday morning

It will be windy today, according to the National Weather Service.

Late this morning through this afternoon, wind will be 15 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 37 mph, the weather service said.

Otherwise, it will be great weather for outdoors events, including the ARCA race tonight at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas.

Late Friday night into early Saturday, showers and isolated thunderstorms are possible, according to the weather service. Severe weather is not expected.
