Today’s high in 70s, cooler on Tuesday

There will be nice fall weather this week, with cooler weather moving in Tuesday and widespread rain chances returning on the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures could drop to a low of 38 on Tuesday night, the weather service said.

The Missouri River at Parkville, where the gauge is on I-435 over the Missouri River between Wyandotte and Platte counties, has fallen below minor flood stage and is in action stage.

Today, Columbus Day, it will be sunny with a high near 71 and a light east southeast wind becoming south southeast 6 to 11 mph in the morning, the weather service said. Winds may gust as high as 18 mph.

Tonight, there will be increasing clouds, with a low of 53, according to the weather service. A southeast wind of 7 to 10 mph will become south southwest after midnight.

Tuesday, it will be partly sunny, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 63, the weather service said. A west wind of 9 to 16 mph will become north northwest in the morning. Winds may gust as high as 25 mph.

Tuesday night, it will be clear with a low of 38 and a north northwest wind of 5 to 8 mph, according to the weather service.

Wednesday, it will be sunny with a high near 55 and a north northwest wind of 6 mph becoming calm in the afternoon, the weather service said.

Wednesday night, it will be mostly clear, with a low around 40, according to the weather service.

Thursday, it will be sunny with a high near 66, the weather service said.

Thursday night, it will be partly cloudy with a low of 52, according to the weather service.

Friday, it will be mostly sunny with a high near 72, the weather service said.

Friday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 52, according to the weather service.

Saturday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 71, the weather service said.

Saturday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 56, according to the weather service.

Sunday, there is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a high near 72, the weather service said.
