Legends launches The Lawn

The Legends Outlets launched The Lawn, an open community area on the west side of the shopping center, with a ribbon-cutting and speeches on Friday morning. Mayor David Alvey spoke at the ribbon-cutting Friday morning for The Lawn at The Legends Outlets. It is a green area where people will be able to gather for events. A large video screen on the smokestack can be seen from The Lawn. Opening weekend activities for The Lawn include a Young Professional Night from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, at The Lawn at The Legends. The event will include music, yard games, a beer garden, giveaways, light snacks from the Yard House and a Royals watch party. Guests must be 21 or older at the beer garden. (Photo by William Crum)
Mayor David Alvey spoke at the ribbon-cutting Friday morning for The Lawn at The Legends Outlets. Family Fun Day at The Lawn will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at The Legends. There will be prize giveaways, snacks, yard games, a petting zoo, face painting, mascot appearance and Sporting KC autograph signing. Residents are invited to a free 50-minute workout class on The Lawn on Saturday morning, Aug. 24, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tony Temple of The Burn KC and Core Power Yoga will be the workout class leader. Registration is at 9:30 a.m. Saturday for the event. Wear appropriate clothing and bring a yoga mat or towel.
