Cooler weather could last through next week

The cooler weather in today’s forecast may last through early next week, according to the National Weather Service.

Rain and storm chances will increase by Sunday morning into Monday, the weather service said.

No hazarous weather is expected through Sunday, according to the weather service. On Monday, chances for severe weather appear to be higher south of the Kansas City area, but it could possibly move north.

The flood warning now has been removed from the Missouri River at Parkville, which includes Wyandotte County. The river went into action stage and is now declining, according to hydrology charts. The Kansas River at 23rd Street also is below flood stage and below action stage.

Today, it will be mostly sunny with a high near 82 and an east wind of 6 to 8 mph, the weather service said.

Tonight, there will be a low of 64, with clouds and an east wind of 6 mph, according to the weather service.

Saturday, it will be partly sunny with a high near 79 and an east wind of 6 to 8 mph, the weather service said.

Saturday night, there is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 65, with an east southeast wind of 3 to 6 mph.

Sunday, there is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a high near 79, and a southeast wind of 6 mph, the weather service said. Less tha a tenth of an inch of rain is possible.

Sunday night, there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 a.m., with a low of 67, according to the weather service. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected.

Monday, there is a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a high near 83, the weather service said.

Monday night, there is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a low of 63, according to the weather service.

Tuesday, it will be sunny with a high of 82, the weather service said.

Tuesday night, there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a low of 64, according to the weather service.

Wednesday, there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a high near 83, the weather service said.
