Victim of homicide on North 64th Terrace identified

Kansas City, Kansas, police have identified the victim of a homicide Sunday, Aug. 18, in the 400 block of North 64th Terrace.

The victim was Melvin R. James Jr., 25, a resident of Kansas City, Missouri, according to a police spokesman.

Officers responded to the address at 12:58 a.m. Aug. 18 and found two males who had been shot, according to a police spokesman.

The Kansas City, Kansas, Fire Department responded to the location and confirmed that one of the victims was deceased. The other victim was taken to a hospital and listed in critical condition, police stated.
