A motorcyclist was critically injured about 6:57 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, in the 2800 block of Merriam Lane, according to a spokesman for the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
A motorcycle was westbound on Merriam Lane at a high rate of speed, according to preliminary reports from police.
The driver of the vehicle came to a sudden stop, and he and his adult female passenger were ejected from the motorcycle, the spokesman stated.
The male driver had life-threatening injuries and was listed in critical condition, according to the spokesman. The female passenger had serious injuries and was in stable condition, police said.
The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department’s Traffic Support Unit – Critical Collision Response Team is currently investigating.
