A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect from 11:40 p.m. Aug. 16 until 7 a.m. Aug. 17, according to the National Weather Service.
Heavy rain will be possible overnight, the weather service said. Thunderstorms may develop during the night, with activity expected to grow during the predawn hours.
Also, a flash flood watch continues now through 1 p.m. Aug. 17, the weather service said.
Rain totals could exceed 3 to 4 inches, the weather service said.
Residents should monitor forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued, according to the weather service.
