Victim inside a home injured when shot strikes leg

Police responded to a shooting into an occupied home at 3:07 a.m. Aug. 11 in the 4100 block of Willard.

According to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department, victims told police they heard gunshots that struck the house. One victim was hit by a bullet in the leg.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of the non-life-threatening injury. No other injuries were reported.

Shots fired at home on Washington

Shots were reportedly fired at a home in the 2600 block of Washington at 9:59 p.m. Aug. 10, according to a social media post by the police department.

Shell casings were found, and two different houses were struck by the gunfire, police stated. There were no injuries.

Aggravated battery reported


During an argument in the 4200 block of Waverly at 1:11 a.m. Aug. 11, a victim’s ex-boyfriend grabbed her by the throat, according to a social media post by police.

The victim fled the scene, according to police.
