It wasn’t that long ago I would walk these streets without fear. I’ve been gone since ’73 and when I hear of the way KCK has turned into it makes me sick. Why would the people in that area ever let it fall into such a pit of shame? As a kid we rode our bikes from WyCo Lake to 38th and State with no fear, later as a teen we cruised State and everyone got along, even rival schools, it was everyone for everybody. We were interested in cars and girls and parties, now it’s blood, gore and theft. KCK will always be my home but I’ll never return, my stomach just couldn’t take it.
