An 18-year-old male was reported in critical condition after being shot near the 11th and State Avenue area of Kansas City, Kansas, about 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, according to police.
Police were sent to the 1100 block of North 11th Street about 6 p.m. Tuesday on reports of a shooting, a spokesman for the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department stated.
A short time later, police received a call saying that a victim of the shooting was at 43rd and State Avenue, the spokesman stated.
Police went there and found an 18-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound, according to the spokesman. The teen was taken to a hospital in critical condition, police stated.
The shooting is under investigation by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division, which is asking anyone with information to call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
