Storms possible tonight, Wednesday

Storms and rain are in the forecast for tonight and Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

There is a 60 percent chance of storms tonight, and storms could move into the Wyandotte County area around 9 p.m., the weather service said. This storm may include hail and high winds. From a tenth to a half-inch of rain is possible.

River flooding continues in Wyandotte County, with moderate flooding on the Missouri River and minor flooding on the Kansas River.

The weekend will bring more rain and storms, according to the weather service.

Today, it will be mostly sunny with a high near 79 and a south wind of 6 to 13 mph, the weather service said.

Tonight, there is a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms likely before 4 a.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be 58 with a south wind of 5 to 9 mph becoming calm. Between a quarter and half-inch of rain is possible.

Wednesday, there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7 a.m., then a slight chance of showers between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 73 with a light and variable wind becoming northwest 12 to 17 mph in the morning. Winds may gust as high as 26 mph. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is likely.

Wednesday night, it will be mostly clear with a low of 49, according to the weather service. A north northwest wind of 5 to 10 mph will become light after midnight. Winds may gust up to 22 mph.

Thursday, it will be sunny with a high near 76 and a calm wind, the weather service said.

Thursday night, there is a 30 percent chance of showers after 1 a.m., with a low of 58, according to the weather service.

Friday, there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 79.

Friday night, there will be a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 1 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be 66.

Saturday, it will be mostly cloudy with a high near 86, the weather service said.

Saturday night, there is a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a low of 66, according to the weather service.

Sunday, it will be partly sunny with a high near 85, the weather service said.

Sunday night, it will be mostly cloudy with a low of 63, according to the weather service.

Monday, it will be partly sunny with a high near 83, the weather service said.
