Guest speakers for the Wyandotte County Third Saturday Democratic Breakfast on June 15 will be State Rep. Kathy Wolfe Moore, D-36th Dist., and State Rep. Tom Burroughs, D-33rd Dist. A kids free fishing derby will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 22, at Big 11 Lake, 1060 State Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. Judging will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The derby is for ages 12 and younger. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third in age categories. ‘One Book, Many Neighbors’ program scheduled June 25
Adult readers will visit neighboring libraries through the months of June and July to discuss short stories from the collection, “One World: A Global Anthology of Short Stories,” and will participate in programs related to those stories, collect stamps on a passport and win prizes at a wrap-up party at Cider Hill Family Orchard. The program began in Atchison and travels to Leavenworth, Lansing, Bonner Springs, Basehor, Linwood and Tonganoxie. The Bonner Springs program will be at 5:30 p.m. June 25 at 201 N.
