Neighborhood garage sale planned
The Historic Westheight Neighborhood Association is planning a neighborhood garage sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 1, in the 18th and Washington Boulevard area of Kansas City, Kansas. Several houses are participating.

Fishing derby planned
Turner Recreation is planning a fishing derby from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 1, at Pierson Park, Shelter No. 2, 1800 S. 55th St., Kansas City, Kansas. The event is for children ages 1-15. There is no charge. For more information, visit https://www.facebook.com/events/784339425279991/.

Delaware ceremony planned June 1 at Wyandotte County Park
The Kansas Delaware Tribe’s annual meeting will take place on Saturday, June 1, at the George Meyn building at Wyandotte County Park, 126th and State Avenue, Bonner Springs. A day of activities is planned about the Delaware culture and heritage. A smoking ceremony will be held at 9 a.m., followed by cultural activities including drumming, finding ancestral roots with the original 26 Delaware members who stayed in Kansas rather than being removed to Indian Territory, recognizing tribal elder and tribal veteran, and studying the cultural meanings of dances and events.

Levee Fest to be June 1
The fourth annual Levee Fest will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 1, at 555 River Park Drive, at the Armourdale Levee trail, Kansas City, Kansas. There will be boat and bridge river tours at 9:30 a.m. A ribbon-cutting will take place for the trail extension. Family activities will be planned, and food trucks will be at the event. Pub crawl, other events planned
The Strawberry Hill Neighborhood Association Pub Crawl is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 1. For more information, see http://www.strawberryhillkck.org/tickets/2019-pub-crawl-ticket. Afterward, St. John’s Catholic Club will hold a Croatian picnic at St. John’s parish grounds, 708 N. 4th St., on Strawberry Hill in Kansas City, Kansas, from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, after the 5:15 p.m. Mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Family story time planned
Family story time will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 1, at the Kansas City, Kansas, Public Library, 625 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. This program is geared to ages 2 to 6. There will be a story, dancing and singing. For other library programs, visit www.kckpl.org.

Spanish singing lessons planned
“Clases de Canto,” or Spanish singing lessons, are planned from noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 1, in Conference Room B, South Branch Library, 3104 Strong Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. The Spanish language singing class is taught by Sandra Zamora. For other library programs, visit www.kckpl.org.

S.T.E.M. Saturday program planned
A S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Saturday program will focus on the planet Jupiter. There will be a science experiment and a talk about the weather on Jupiter. The program is geared to students in elementary school, and everyone 18 and younger may attend. The program is from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 1, at the Main Kansas City, Kansas, Public Library, craft room, 625 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, Kansas.

Summer reading kickoff planned
The annual summer reading kick-off will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 1, at the West Wyandotte Library, 1737 N. 82nd St., Kansas City, Kansas. There will be giveaways, face-painting, snow cones and an inflatable on the lawn. The free event is for all ages, including children and teens.

T-Bones play RailCats

The T-Bones and Railcats are back in action at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, June 1, at T-Bones Stadium, 1800 Village West Parkway, Kansas City, Kansas. Gates open at 6 p.m. There will be post-game fireworks.
