More accident reports from Tuesday’s wet highways

Accidents were reported on highways in Wyandotte County during wet weather and thunderstorms on Tuesday.

Some of the accidents, according to Kansas Highway Patrol reports, included:

Ford Mustang spins, collides with Dodge Ram on I-70

A Ford Mustang was eastbound on I-70 west of the 78th Street exit at 3:52 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, when the driver lost control, the car spun and crossed two lanes of traffic, according to the highway patrol trooper’s report.

A Dodge Ram 2500 was unable to avoid hitting the Mustang as it entered his lane, and hit the Mustang at the side.

The driver of the Mustang, a 57-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, woman, had a possible minor injury and was taken to a hospital, the trooper’s report stated.

The driver of the Dodge Ram, a 42-year-old man from Blue Springs, Missouri, had no apparent injury, according to the trooper’s report.

Another accident reported on eastbound I-70


Another accident was reported on eastbound I-70, east of I-435 in Kansas City, Kansas, at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, according to the highway patrol trooper’s report.

Two vehicles were eastbound on I-70, when a Toyota Camry slowed for traffic and was rear-ended by a Volvo truck, according to the trooper’s report.

The driver of the Toyota Camry, a 49-year-old woman from Fairway, Kansas, had a possible injury, according to the trooper’s report.

The driver of the Volvo truck, a 24-year-old man from Maysville, Missouri, had no apparent injury, according to the trooper’s report.

Vehicle hydroplanes, overturns on I-70

A Honda Pilot overturned on I-70 at I-435 in Kansas City, Kansas, at 4:56 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.

The Pilot hydroplaned, struck the barrier wall and overturned, the trooper’s report stated.

The driver of the vehicle, a 46-year-old woman from Bonner Springs, Kansas, had a possible minor injury and declined to be taken to a hospital, the trooper’s report stated.
