Car spins out, hits wall and is struck on I-70

An injury-accident was reported on westbound I-70 near I-435 in Wyandotte County at 6:52 a.m. Tuesday, April 30. Rainstorms moved through the area in the morning, and continued in the afternoon.

According to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report, a Chevrolet Impala was westbound on I-70 when it began to spin and then struck the wall. A Buick Park Avenue then struck the Impala, according to the trooper’s report.

The driver of the Park Avenue, a 34-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, woman had a possible minor injury, the trooper’s report stated. She was not taken to a hospital.

The driver of the Impala, a 25-year-old woman from Kansas City, Missouri, was not injured, the report stated.

Second crash reported on I-70

A second crash was reported on westbound I-70 in Wyandotte County at 6:53 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.

A Honda Civic slowed to a stop to avoid hitting another vehicle stopped in the lane from a previous collision, the trooper’s report stated.

Then a Toyota Corolla struck the Civic in the rear, the report stated.

The driver of the Corolla, a 35-year-old Shawnee, Kansas, man, had no apparent injury, according to the trooper’s report.

The driver of the Civic, a 24-year-old Kansas City, Missouri, woman, had some pain, the report stated. She was not taken to a hospital.
