The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning in effect from 6:08 p.m. Sunday, April 28, through 6:45 p.m. Sunday.
Bonner Springs, Edwardsville and Kansas City, Kansas, are in the path of this storm, along with surrounding areas in Kansas and Missouri.
Residents should move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building, the weather service said.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm and may lead to flash flooding, the weather service said. Do not drive vehicles through flooded roadways.
