The Kansas Supreme Court today upheld the conviction of Tynisha Story of first-degree murder in the Jan. 1, 2010, shooting death of Lakeasha Ross.
The court unanimously confirmed Story’s convictions. She was sentenced to a hard-25 year sentence.
The court stated that the prosecutor did not commit misconduct by making a reference to school shootings as examples of situations in which a defendant may be convicted of premeditated murder despite being unaware of the exact identities of the victims.
The court also rejected Story’s claims of jury instruction error and cumulative error.
