The conditions of some victims in a traffic accident on South 7th Street on Thursday has been upgraded to stable, according to police.
A spokesman for the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department stated that some accident victims had been in critical condition after the accident, and all victims now are in stable condition after receiving treatment at hospitals.
According to police, an initial investigation found that the driver of a silver Honda Pilot that was southbound on 7th crossed lanes into oncoming traffic, hitting a tan Mercury Mountaineer that was northbound with seven occupants. The accident happened at 5:01 p.m. Thursday in the 800 block of South 7th.
Some of the occupants of the Mountaineer, including juveniles, sustained critical injuries, and the driver of the Honda Pilot also had critical injuries following the accident, according to early reports from the police.
The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department’s Traffic Support Unit – Critical Collision Response Team is investigating the accident, the spokesman stated.
